Circular Cut Distortion

Hand Colored Gradient

Hand Colored Selection Tool

Symmetrical Pattern

Vertical Cut Distortion

*I was absent when we learned Halftone Screen

I really enjoyed this unit because I was able to make my photos look more creative. I think I did a better job with creativity than I did with previous projects and I believe I did well using photoshop. I prefer the more abstract style because you can really get creative with it and find your signature way of doing photography.

Creative Techniques

Image Overlays with Text:
i. Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road get up and go if I knew
That someday it would lead me back to you
That someday it would lead me back to you

Fingers trace your every outline
Paint a picture with my hands
Back and forth we sway like branches in a storm
Change the weather still together when it ends

ii. 4 of the photos have rain shots in them. Two are pictures of raindrops on a window and two are of rain falling off a porch roof. Whenever I think of the line "Sunday morning rain is falling', I think of someone looking out a window on a rainy Sunday or sitting on a porch watching the rain fall. Then, one picture is of someone painting a picture with their hands and that line is directly in the song.

Motion Final

Blurred Motion
ISO: 6400, f/20, 1/8

Chrono
ISO: 6400, f/13, 1/60

Frozen Motion
ISO: 6400, f/4.5, 1/160

Panning
ISO: 6400, f/7.1, 1/60

Writing With Light
ISO: 100, f/3.5, 6.0

Zooming
ISO: 6400, f/10, 1/15
In this unit, I've learned that types of shutter speeds can completely change a photo. I like that I have the option to make my photos unique just by changing the shutter speeds. I think I succeeded in capturing the types of photos, but I think that if I had more time and better weather, I could really expand on these types of photos and come up with more creative ideas. If I were to do the project again, I would try to come up with more creative ideas and try to use more than one person in the photos so I could get something different out of each picture that I take.

Motion Shooting Assignment

During this project, I had trouble coming up with different examples for each motion. I had to really think to make creative pictures and I'm not exactly happy with the outcome. I think I did a decent job with the shutter speeds and how the pictures turned out.

Motion - In Class

Blurred Motion (1/8, 1600, f/13)

We took the photo using a tripod and the settings listed above.
Frozen Motion (1/500, 1600, f/5)
We took the photo using a tripod and the settings listed above.
Panning (1/80, 800, f/5)
We took this photo using a tripod and had her run across while we took a continuous amount of shots and used the following settings above. We also had to follow her face with the dots centered on the lens.

Chrono (1/60,1600,f/5.6)
For chrono we had to set the camera up on a tripod and move her in different situations so we could set it up.
Zooming (1/1,400,f/14)
For this photo we used a tripod and had to twist the camera lense while we were taking the photo in order to get the zooming effect.

Completed Chrono (1/60,1600,f/5.6)

We had to use a tripod and make sure we took the photo in the exact spot for every photo so we could mask the photos together to create one picture.

Writing With Light Group Experiment

ISO: 100
APERTURE: f/5.6
SHUTTER SPEED: 1.0

This is my favorite shot from our experiment because it came out the clearest out of all the photos and the light went the whole way across her head. I think we could have done a better job with creativity and next time, possibly try different designs and lighting techniques. I believe if we'd had a little more time on the experiment, it probably would have turned out even better. We did a decent job on keeping our subject clear and also getting the light the whole way across her head.

Assignment 2: Chrono

These pictures are visually appealing because you can see every motion the person made while the picture was being taken. The motions make your eyes go in different directions in order to completely view the photo and the details of it and makes the picture more interesting.
