I think that my pictures came out better than I expected. I focused better and had barely any problems getting the kind of picture I was working to get. I didn't think I had much creativity, but was surprised when I came up with the ideas that I did. I tried to have a repeating element so I could combine them easily and then decided to do a couple fun elements of design for myself. I think I did a good job focusing and coming up with ideas. If I ever do this project again, I will make sure to try and come up with more creative ideas and try to focus on things that aren't as easy to focus on and also the black and white levels.

Lighting Unit

During this unit, I learned a lot of techniques that I didn't even know existed. I feel really comfortable with doing white balance and metering now and think that I can take some pretty decent shots. I like that I have different options now that I know a lot about lighting techniques. I will most definitely use this lighting unit for future pictures that I will take. If I were to do this project again, my pictures would come out better than they did this time because I have a lot more knowledge on what to do and techniques to use. I recommend being more creative about the pictures and use editing to your advantage.

Understanding Histograms

1. What is a histogram?
A histogram is a tool a large amount of cameras offer to help you get a quick summary of the tonal range in any image you take. It gives you more information about an image and helps you get the effect that you want. Having your camera set to show you histograms during the view process will tell you how your image is exposed.

 2. What happens to the visual when a histogram is skewed to the left? Right?
 When a histogram is skewed to the left there are dark pixels that create a blackish tone. When it is skewed to the right, the tones become lighter and create a whiter tone.

3. In most cases, what does a “good” histogram look like? 
 When the light and dark tones are evenly distributed in the middle, it is considered a "good" histogram.

 When it is equally distributed, it means there's an equal amount of light tones and dark tones. When you look at the levels, it is in the middle and not just on the left side or on the right side.

 A histogram is a good tool for photographers because it will let you fix any exposure mistakes. You will get an even distribution of light and dark tones that makes the image look the best it can.
